Protection from harmful UV radiation is important to protect the skin from sun damage, premature ageing and skin cancer. In the natural cosmetics sector, sun care products contain mineral filters. In the clean beauty sector, synthetic filters that are harmless to humans and nature are permitted.

What is the difference?

Mineral filters: Mineral filters based on zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are natural and effective protective substances that can reflect and absorb the sun's UV rays. The new generation with nano zinc avoids excessive "whitening" of the skin. They are particularly suitable for sensitive skin types and can also be used on children.

Synthetic filters: Synthetic filters based on chemicals can absorb UV rays and convert them into heat. They are generally more practical to apply than mineral filters and have a pleasant texture and do not leave a white color on the skin.

If you are exposed to the sun on a daily basis, e.g. by cycling to university or work, then a day cream with integrated SPF may be something for you! The advantage of a day cream with integrated SPF is that it protects the face from UV radiation while moisturizing and protecting the skin.
